Sustainability
As Hereford cattle breeders, we see the power of good genetics when feeding cattle for the freezer. So, we try to use our genetics whenever possible by purchasing calves from local breeders who use our bulls on their cows. In that way, we can harness the power of hybrid vigor and heterosis of other breeds of cattle crossing with our purebred Hereford bulls. It allows us to maximize our feed efficiency in raising these calves and also have great confidence in the quality of their meat.
We also utilize regenerative farming practices such as no-till, grazing cover crops, and rotationally grazing to improve soil health and function. In doing so, we see great benefits for the cattle as well. All while making our operation as efficient as possible so that we can raise more cattle ethically, with fewer inputs.
